A potent and powerful beginning to the Lunar New Year!

A new lunar cycle launches as the Sun and Moon align in Aquarius at 20 degrees on February 9, 2024, exact at 2:59 pm PT. Our Lunar Light is reborn and rebirthed, cleansed by our Solar Star. Themes and timelines are closing, reforming, restructuring. We too, enter an energetic phase of renewal alongside this New Moon.

Times are transitioning, simultaneously moving through both endings and beginnings. Expired energies are releasing while current intentions are integrating. Clearing out to create anew. Breathe in, breathe out. Reset.

Unleash Your Uniqueness

Fixed air sign Aquarius inspires us to innovate the visions of our souls. We are each encoded with a unique expression — in character, personality, style, life paths, dreams, and desires. In this lifetime, we have the opportunity to create what we feel called to. Of course, we are each working with varying circumstances and factors of fortune, yet we all have an intuitive direction

instilled within us, revealing where our hearts are guiding us. This archetype encourages us to dance with the divine dharma within, implementing our innate creative, world-building abilities to take it from the ethers of possibility to physical manifestation.

The more authentically we embrace what makes us, us and allow ourselves the ability to function and flow freely, the more clearly and closely we will match and magnetize to what is truly meant for us. Why be like everybody else when you can actually live the life you are most drawn to simply by being you and exuding the pure essence of your existence? You are a natural magnet to all that is meant for you.

Liberation From “The Norm”

Radically accepting our authentic truths may require us to call in the courage to live differently than others, walking to the beat of our own drums. Are you willing to step outside of the box in order to follow your intuitive insights? Let the currents of this moon cycle spark your curiosity to explore and experiment with who you are, what you want, and what you wish to bring into form.

On a broader scale, Aquarius energy carries the signature of revolution, igniting us to go against the grain and follow our internal knowings versus an outside authority or narrative. This sign stands up for what is right, which oftentimes results in a rebellion of the mainstream. Speaking your mind, even if your voice shakes kind of vibes.

The Aquarian Archetype

Represented by the Water Bearer, this mystical imagery symbolizes sharing life and resources, pouring into the greater group of humanity. Across the axis in Leo, we are focused on the self and our own best interests while here in Aquarius, that love and care spills into society at large. The relationship between these opposites reminds us that by taking care of ourselves, we are better able to show up for others. The health of any village is defined by the wellbeing of its individuals. We are one!

Our New Moon with a humanitarian heart asks, how can we serve and pour into ourselves so that we may serve and pour into our neighbors? Where could we share an act of kindness with someone? How can we create a better tomorrow, today?

Digital Detox

Aquarius rules over technology, the internet, and the way the collective connects. As the moon transits through this airy territory, we are invited to take inventory of where we are investing our attention within the digital realms. This may look like unsubscribing from channels and feeds that are no longer of interest to you, unfollowing people who don’t inspire or uplift you, decluttering your inboxes, etc.

Many of us spend time plugged into our devices at some capacity on the daily, existing within this technological universe. In the same way that we clean and refresh our physical environments, it’s vital that we tend to our virtual environments. Our frequencies fluctuate depending on what we allow into our fields and the energies we surround ourselves with.

Harness the potency of this New Moon to get organized online. Readjust and rearrange your pages to reflect the energies you wish to embody and emulate. Set boundaries around the content you consume, ensuring it is in resonance with you and supports you as opposed to draining you or tearing you down.

The Pluto Effect

We have entered a new era marked by Pluto’s entrance into Aquarius. For the next two decades, this space in the sky will host this powerful planet. Our current New Moon is the first Aquarian lunation with Pluto present of many in the years to come.

The furthest out cosmic body in our solar system has a reputation for plunging us to subterranean levels, excavating the fears, shadows, stories, and sensations held deep within our bodies and spirit consciousness. It transforms us from the inside out.

Notice if you are able to sense a different tone in how you experience this lunar event that differs from the way Aquarius energy typically feels and expresses working with your natal chart configuration. The Mini Horoscopes written by rising sign at the end of this blog post will inform you of which house and its related topics are most activated for you during this period, both with the New Moon and Pluto’s transit.

Pluto was quite a highlight during the recent Full Moon in Leo as well, which we discussed in depth HERE if you are curious to learn more!

Celestial Conditions Of The New Moon Chart

In looking at the chart of this New Moon, we see the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, and Pluto floating through Aquarius, with Mars and Venus following closely behind in the final decan of Capricorn. With such a heavy Plutonian hand nearby, each of these cosmic bodies is experiencing its own personal transformation.

Lots of Saturnian energy in the mix here, as both Capricorn and Aquarius are traditionally ruled by our Great Malefic. Saturn is the ruler of this lunation, currently located at 7 degrees of Pisces. We can always look to the planetary ruler to give us more information, and in this case we see the planet of boundaries and authority mostly without celestial connection, besides a supportive sextile to Jupiter.

Jupiter is also in contact with Mercury, sharing a hard aspect known as a square. When sharing this stressed line of sight, two streams of energy hit a roadblock of tension, which may cause frustration but can also prove to be very action-oriented. Here, between the planet of growth and the planet of mental activity, it could feel like a mindset expansion or an amplification of thoughts. What we attune our attention to is what we become more aware of. Let us be mindful of what we speak to ourselves.

Now, onto the biggest starry showdown: the Sun and Moon in a square to Uranus in Taurus. This aspect has the potential to send shockwaves. The “modern ruler” of Aquarius is known to be the planet of rebellion, awakening, and upheaval. As the higher octave of Mercury, Uranus

seeks universal truth. This funky sphere is one of a kind, being the only planet to spin sideways — a pattern which symbolically prompts us to let our individual, unique quirks shine. Being the last to finish its retrograde cycle, Uranus stationed on January 26, ushering us into a period of all planets direct. This astrological phrase refers to a time where there is no retrograde motion in the skies, giving the planets permission to integrate lessons learned and move forward. With Uranus recently completing its five month rx chapter, we are now feeling a big push to make changes, to uproot what is no longer feeling resonant, to shift even if it happens suddenly. The core intention being, to align further with our authenticity and liberate ourselves from any structures holding us back in any way, shape, or form. The square to our New Moon poses the question, will we cling to the comfort of the status quo or will we dare to break free, breaking through to new levels and leaving old loops behind? Sometimes regardless of choice, Uranus steps in to shake it up.

The last prominent line of sight we’ll chat about here is the New Moon’s trine to Ketu, the South Node of the Moon and concurrent sextile to Rahu, the North Node. While separating, they are still close enough to be considered. These lunar points represent our soul growth cycles, the karma we carry, and codes of destiny. With these benefic aspects hitting our Aquarius Moon, we receive further affirmation from the astros to pave a new pathway that better serves and supports the freedom of our spirits.

NEW MOON RITUAL : Auric Cleansing

Aquarius intakes information from the etheric dimensions through the sahasrara (crown) chakra, the energy center that works with collective consciousness, universal unity, connection to spirit, and worldly wisdoms. As we process through and synergize this knowledge pouring in, we plant

it more deeply into our bodies. Ultimately, we would like to establish a strong channel between the sahasrara chakra and the muladhara (root) chakra, grounding any instinctual intel into earthly matter.

As our beliefs inform our being-ness, it’s imperative that we address and detach from any expired energies that we have outgrown that might still be dwelling in our orbits.

In this meditative ritual, we will be utilizing inner visualization to free our auric fields from any unwanted frequencies by sending healing light rays over our beings.

1. To begin, we shall set and sanctify our spaces. During this ritual, you will be either laying down or seated (whichever you prefer), so start by making a cozy spot as the center of your altar area by putting down blankets or pillows.

2. Surrounding this space, create an energetic grid with any meaningful or magical tools you may have. Make this your own and unique to you, but here are a few suggestions for inspiration:

- Lay crystals around, beginning with one by your head, one by your feet, one to each your left and your right sides, filling in more intuitively from there.

- Spark tea light candles, placing them above your crown and below your root.

- Write intentions for what you are calling in and place it by your sahasrara chakra, followed by writing what you are releasing and placing it by your muladhara chakra.

3. After this sacred preparation, come to a quiet stillness within yourself as you lay down or take a seat upon the altar you have put together to become purified. Arrive to the present moment, closing your eyes, sinking deeper into your subtle awareness. Allow your body to melt as you fix your attention to your breath — deep nostril inhales and long, slow exhales out the mouth, rolling and repeating, finding your rhythm.

4. As you drop deeper into this meditative state, fix your focus to see your aura through your third eye. What color is it? What texture? Does it feel light or heavy, radiant or dense? Spend time here sensing into your spiritual nature. Do you notice anything that is clouding your essence that no longer belongs with/to you?

5. When you’re ready, envision a bright, healing, white translucent light floating into your field. Beginning at your crown, invite this light to wash over you, slowly, from top to bottom down to your root. During this time, letting the luminosity clear and cleanse you of any sticky or retired energetic residue. Repeat this light work a few times over.

6. Once your core auric pillar has been opened, take this ritual one step further by envisioning a bright violet light entering your crown chakra channel, symbolizing the reception of divine intelligence. As this light travels down your being, see as it transforms into a rich red shade when reaching the root; a representation of this knowledge grounding and rooting into your terrestrial consciousness.

7. Use your intuition to gauge when this process is complete for you, easing into the current moment and cognitively coming back to yourself. Affirm aloud, that you are clear, connected, and consciously aligned. And so it is.
